Went and checked out Beyond the Streets while my wife and I were in LA. This is possibly the best exhibit I have been too. With over 40,000 sq ft of exhibits it was impressive, to say the least.
Growing up as a Bay Area Graffiti Artist in the late 90’s and early 2000’s I associate and I am influence by a ton of artist and ideas this cultural show brings. The Curator Roger Gastman was the man behind a graffiti magazine called “Life Sucks Die” during the early 2000’s. I had plenty of issues of this magazine and even had some work in it back in the day. It’s inspiring to see how far he’s come and see what he’s doing now.
This exhibit is a must see for anyone and runs through August, 26. More info here.
Here are some snap shots I took. Enjoy.
